Intel® NUC is a small form factor PC with a tiny footprint, which became known as the Next Unit of Computing. These computers are smaller than laptops but pack a punch in terms of efficiency.

All Intel NUC models are divided into 3 categories: performance (high-efficiency computers for homes and offices), hobbyists (home gaming PCs with skeletons, depicted on KDPV), and professional (commercial, professional, and embedded solutions).

Here, I will highlight some of the key features of Intel NUC Enthusiast this category of PC designed for a gamer. If you’re a gamer looking for a more compact rig than what’s traditionally on the market, you should check out the Intel NUC 11 Enthusiast.

Have to say, whether it is the Intel NUC Phantom Canyon body or the packaging box, it is difficult to relate to the NUC products released by Intel in the past.

In terms of design, its matte black casing makes the device look very classy, and also has a few fun designs, including a huge RGB skull on the front panel, even customize the top panel yourself.

The device is well ventilated, around more mesh to let hot air escape, and supports vertical placement, effectively saving desktop space.

Of course, for a high-performance NUC like the NUC11 Extreme, the strength of the hardware is the key to victory.

As the most expensive model in the Next Unit of Computing line, NUC11 Extreme is powered by Intel’s latest-generation i7 processor. This processor, with 4 cores and 8 threads architecture, has a default frequency of 2.8GHz, up to 4.7GHz.

As a great choice for gamers, This compact PC boasts a powerful GeForce RTX 2060 discrete graphics card, allowing this SFF machine to handle triple-A titles like CyberPunk, Flight Simulator, and Call Of Duty with ease.

The Enthusiast is the only current-gen NUC 11 platform to offer dedicated RTX graphics with the 2060 6GB alongside the integrated solution which is a major plus for this new mini PC.

In terms of memory, this line of Intel Enthusiast NUCs comes in one of two flavors: preconfigured or barebones.

For the preconfigured, NUC 11 Phantom Canyon uses a combination of 8+8GB 3200MHz of memory, at the same time providing a decent amount of expansion capability. The underside of the motherboard is with two DIMM slots and two NVME slots, if you choose to add RAM after the fact, the system can support up to 64GB.

If you’re getting the barebones kit, you will have to add your own RAM, storage, and operating system. Fortunately, fitting these components in and setting up Windows is also a cinch. For hobbyists who like customization, it’s a winner.

Connectivity and Ports

As a top-end choice in Intel’s latest line of NUCs, the NUC11PHKi7C comes with a host of connectivity options, There are a total of eight USB 3.1 ports, a pair of Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports, HDMI 2.0b, 3.5mm audio jack, and even a UHS-II SD card slot. For networking, a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port and an integrated Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 are available.

As an enthusiast/gamer professional-grade system, NUC11 Extreme connects up to four 4K monitors via HDMI, mDP, and two high-speed Thunderbolt 4 ports. Six more USB 3.2 Gen2 USB ports provide ample interfaces to your mechanical keyboard, game controllers, racing pedals, or even add a graphics tablet for editing and design.

While the Intel NUC 11 Enthusiast is a great buy for gamers, it’s also suitable for creative professionals. With its dedicated RTX 2060 graphics card, the NUC Enthusiast is still an excellent choice for video streaming and even video editing.

Then again, why do say a high-performance NUC device like the NUC11 Extreme will be the future of gaming PCs? The reason is simple, NUC11 Extreme is a highly integrated hardware that will become the new trend of the future of the mass consumer market.

For gamers, this kind of gaming NUC performance and gaming experience is much better than the gaming laptop, for example, You are this way every day with NUC11 Extreme to and from work, than a 20L ITX host is too convenient.
