Intel NUC 11 Performance: Built for Commercial Environments

Intel NUC 11 Performance Panther Canyon

The new NUC 11 Performance, also known as the Panther Canyon NUC, is the latest in Intel’s line of ultra-mini desktop PCs. After the disappointing Frost Canyon NUC, Intel decided to upgrade it with a new Tiger Lake, which promised significant performance gains.

Also NUC 11 products, we have previously introduced the “Phantom Canyon” for gamers, NUC 11 Enthusiast is a performance-oriented product, while the NUC 11 performance Panther Canyon for business users has a rather different design concept.


The small, portable Intel NUC 11 Performance is an ideal computer for mobile work or play. The compact design measures just 4.6 inches wide, 4.4 inches deep, and 2 inches high. It weighs just ‎3.1 pounds and features VESA mount support for attaching it to the back of a display. This is an ideal solution for those who need a fast and dependable desktop.


In addition to its design, Its performance is also excellent.

The NUC 11 Panther Canyon is powered by an Intel Tiger Lake platform CPU. And it is that the latest conventional NUC is available under two processor options Core i5-1135G7, and Core i7-1165G7.

Core i7-1165G7 is a 28W quad-core/eight-thread CPU ticking at 2.8GHz base and 4.7GHz Turbo clock. The Core i5 has configurable TDP down to 900MHz, so it’s a good choice for anyone looking for a low-cost PC.

The taller models should still be good enough for some light gaming, thanks to the use of revolutionary Intel Iris Xe graphics. But, don’t expect a huge amount from Intel’s Iris Xe graphics, either. after all, Nuc 11 Performance is clearly an intended mini PC for commercial use.


As a commercial-grade PC, the interface and expansion capability are very important feature indicators. Despite Panther Canyon’s compact size, the unit has a huge amount of ports for connecting to peripherals.

On the front, it’s got two USB 3.2 Gen 2 connectors with a top speed of 10Gb/sec, and the rear has another alongside a USB 2.0 slot. Impressively, the rear also has two Thunderbolt 4 ports, which means a mighty bandwidth level of 40Gb/sec alongside DisplayPort support.

These are the same ports that support the display, so you can connect your displays to them without any hassle. Another highlight is you’ll find two HDMI sockets and 2.5Gb/sec Ethernet. In addition, its charging lid can wirelessly charge your phone.

Besides these, it can multitask across multiple screens by connecting up to four 4K monitors, this feature makes the NUC Panther Canyon an excellent choice for homes or small businesses.

Memory and Storage

In addition to its high-end processor, this compact NUC allows you to upgrade the RAM and storage options.

The NUC 11 Performance has a single channel of DDR4-3200 memory. It supports PCIe Gen4 NVMe storage.

You can support up to 64GB of RAM in two SO-DIMM slots. Additionally, the NUC 11 Panther Canyon will offer multiple storage options, including SSDs, and a secondary 2.5-inch bay.

Because the NUC11 Panther Canyon is available in two styles – the tall one can accommodate a 2.5-inch hard drive, while the short version can only accommodate an M.2 slot for solid-state storage.

While the Panther Canyon is clearly intended for commercial use, it can still serve home users’ productivity, entertainment, and communication needs, as well as some light gaming. It’s a great choice for those who want a desktop replacement.
